* docs: update to show preferred boolean syntax for -cpuDaniel P. Berrangé2021-02-251-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | The preferred syntax is to use "foo=on|off", rather than a bare "+foo" or "-foo" Signed-off-by: Daniel P. Berrangé <berrange@redhat.com> Message-Id: <20210216191027.595031-10-berrange@redhat.com> Signed-off-by: Paolo Bonzini <pbonzini@redhat.com>
* schemas: Add vim modelineAndrea Bolognani2020-08-031-0/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The various schemas included in QEMU use a JSON-based format which is, however, strictly speaking not valid JSON. As a consequence, when vim tries to apply syntax highlight rules for JSON (as guessed from the file name), the result is an unreadable mess which mostly consist of red markers pointing out supposed errors in, well, pretty much everything. Using Python syntax highlighting produces much better results, and in fact these files already start with specially-formatted comments that instruct Emacs to process them as if they were Python files. This commit adds the equivalent special comments for vim. Signed-off-by: Andrea Bolognani <abologna@redhat.com> Message-Id: <20200729185024.121766-1-abologna@redhat.com> Reviewed-by: Daniel P. * hw/ppc/prep: Remove the deprecated "prep" machine and the OpenHackware BIOSThomas Huth2020-02-021-2/+1Star
| | | | | | | | | | | It's been deprecated since QEMU v3.1. The 40p machine should be used nowadays instead. * qapi: Move query-target from misc.json to machine.jsonMarkus Armbruster2019-08-211-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | Move query-target and its return type TargetInfo from misc.json to machine.json, where they are covered by MAINTAINERS section "Machine core". Also move its implementation from arch_init.c to hw/core/machine-qmp-cmds, where it is likewise covered. All users of SysEmuTarget are now in machine.json. Move it there from common.json. * docs/interop/firmware.json: Prefer -machine to if=pflashMarkus Armbruster2019-03-111-6/+14
| | | | | | | | | | The previous commit added a way to configure firmware with -blockdev rather than -drive if=pflash. Document it as the preferred way. * docs/interop: add "firmware.json"Laszlo Ersek2018-06-011-0/+540
Add a schema that describes the different uses and properties of virtual machine firmware. Each firmware executable installed on a host system should come with at least one JSON file that conforms to this schema. Each file informs the management applications about - the firmware's properties and one possible use case / feature set, - configuration bits that are required to run the firmware binary. In addition, define rules for management apps for picking the highest priority firmware JSON file when multiple such files match the search criteria. Cc: "Daniel P.
