* docs: fix references to docs/devel/tracing.rstStefano Garzarella2021-06-021-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Commit e50caf4a5c ("tracing: convert documentation to rST") converted docs/devel/tracing.txt to docs/devel/tracing.rst. We still have several references to the old file, so let's fix them with the following command: sed -i s/tracing.txt/tracing.rst/ $(git grep -l docs/devel/tracing.txt) Signed-off-by: Stefano Garzarella <sgarzare@redhat.com> Reviewed-by: Philippe Mathieu-Daudé <philmd@redhat.com> Message-Id: <20210517151702.109066-2-sgarzare@redhat.com> Signed-off-by: Thomas Huth <thuth@redhat.com>

| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Target lm32 was deprecated in commit d8498005122, v5.2.0. See there for rationale. Some of its code lives on in device models derived from milkymist ones: hw/char/digic-uart.c and hw/display/bcm2835_fb.c. * hw/char/pl011: add a clock inputLuc Michel2020-10-271-0/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | Add a clock input to the PL011 UART so we can compute the current baud rate and trace it. This is intended for developers who wish to use QEMU to e.g. debug their firmware or to figure out the baud rate configured by an unknown/closed source binary. * hw/char/serial: Rename I/O read/write trace eventsPhilippe Mathieu-Daudé2020-09-301-2/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | The serial_mm_read/write() handlers from the TYPE_SERIAL_MM device call the serial_ioport_read/write() handlers with shifted offset. When looking at the trace events from this MMIO device, it is confusing to read the accesses as I/O. Simplify using generic trace event names which make sense the various uses. * trace-events: Fix attribution of trace points to sourceMarkus Armbruster2020-09-091-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Some trace points are attributed to the wrong source file. Happens when we neglect to update trace-events for code motion, or add events in the wrong place, or misspell the file name. Clean up with help of scripts/cleanup-trace-events.pl. Funnies requiring manual post-processing: * accel/tcg/cputlb.c trace points are in trace-events. * block.c and blockdev.c trace points are in block/trace-events. * hw/block/nvme.c uses the preprocessor to hide its trace point use from cleanup-trace-events.pl. * hw/tpm/tpm_spapr.c uses pseudo trace point tpm_spapr_show_buffer to guard debug code. * include/hw/xen/xen_common.h trace points are in hw/xen/trace-events. * linux-user/trace-events abbreviates a tedious list of filenames to */signal.c. * net/colo-compare and net/filter-rewriter.c use pseudo trace points colo_compare_miscompare and colo_filter_rewriter_debug to guard debug code. * hw/char/cadence_uart: add clock supportDamien Hedde2020-04-301-0/+3
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Switch the cadence uart to multi-phase reset and add the reference clock input. The input clock frequency is added to the migration structure. The reference clock controls the baudrate generation. If it disabled, any input characters and events are ignored. If this clock remains unconnected, the uart behaves as before (it default to a 50MHz ref clock). Signed-off-by: Damien Hedde <damien.hedde@greensocs.com> Reviewed-by: Edgar E. * hw/char/exynos4210_uart: Add receive DMA supportGuenter Roeck2020-01-231-0/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | To support receive DMA, we need to inform the DMA controller if receive data is available. Otherwise the DMA controller keeps requesting data, causing receive errors. Implement this using an interrupt line. The instantiating code then needs to connect the interrupt with the matching DMA controller GPIO pin.
