* [memmap] Allow explicit colour selection for memory map debug messagesMichael Brown2025-05-251-5/+5
| | | | | | | | | | | Provide DBGC_MEMMAP() as a replacement for memmap_dump(), allowing the colour used to match other messages within the same message group. Retain a dedicated colour for output from memmap_dump_all(), on the basis that it is generally most useful to visually compare full memory dumps against previous full memory dumps. * [memmap] Rename addr/last fields to min/max for clarityMichael Brown2025-05-231-4/+4
| | | | | | | | Use the terminology "min" and "max" for addresses covered by a memory region descriptor, since this is sufficiently intuitive to generally not require further explanation. Signed-off-by: Michael Brown <mcb30@ipxe.org>
* [image] Use memmap_describe() to check loadable image segmentsMichael Brown2025-05-161-23/+30

* [uaccess] Remove redundant copy_from_user() and copy_to_user()Michael Brown2025-04-301-0/+1
| | | | | | | Remove the now-redundant copy_from_user() and copy_to_user() wrapper functions. Signed-off-by: Michael Brown <mcb30@ipxe.org>
* [uaccess] Remove trivial uses of userptr_tMichael Brown2025-04-241-1/+1
| | | | Signed-off-by: Michael Brown <mcb30@ipxe.org>
* [uaccess] Remove user_to_phys() and phys_to_user()Michael Brown2025-04-211-3/+3
| | | | | | | | Remove the intermediate concept of a user pointer from physical address conversions, leaving virt_to_phys() and phys_to_virt() as the directly implemented functions. Signed-off-by: Michael Brown <mcb30@ipxe.org>
* [uaccess] Remove redundant memcpy_user() and related string functionsMichael Brown2025-04-211-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | The memcpy_user(), memmove_user(), memcmp_user(), memset_user(), and strlen_user() functions are now just straightforward wrappers around the corresponding standard library functions. Remove these redundant wrappers. Signed-off-by: Michael Brown <mcb30@ipxe.org>
* [legal] Relicense files under GPL2_OR_LATER_OR_UBDLMichael Brown2015-03-021-1/+5
| | | | | | | Relicense files for which I am the sole author (as identified by util/relicense.pl). Signed-off-by: Michael Brown <mcb30@ipxe.org>
* [legal] Update FSF mailing address in GPL licence textsMichael Brown2012-07-201-1/+2

* [ioapi] Move get_memmap() to the I/O API groupPiotr Jaroszyński2010-08-161-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | pcbios specific get_memmap() is used by the b44 driver making all-drivers builds fail on other platforms. Move it to the I/O API group and provide a dummy implementation on EFI. Signed-off-by: Piotr Jaroszyński <p.jaroszynski@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Michael Brown <mcb30@ipxe.org>
* [libc] Enable automated extraction of error usage reportsMichael Brown2010-05-311-11/+14
| | | | | | | Add preprocessor magic to the error definitions to enable every error usage to be tracked. Signed-off-by: Michael Brown <mcb30@ipxe.org>
* [build] Rename gPXE to iPXEMichael Brown2010-04-201-4/+4
| | | | | | | | | | | Access to the gpxe.org and etherboot.org domains and associated resources has been revoked by the registrant of the domain. Work around this problem by renaming project from gPXE to iPXE, and updating URLs to match. Also update README, LOG and COPYRIGHTS to remove obsolete information. Signed-off-by: Michael Brown <mcb30@ipxe.org>
* [legal] Add a selection of FILE_LICENCE declarationsMichael Brown2009-05-181-0/+2
| | | | | Add FILE_LICENCE declarations to almost all files that make up the various standard builds of gPXE.
* [segment] Add "Requested memory not available" error messageMichael Brown2009-03-311-0/+11
| | | | | | | | | | | prep_segment() can sometimes fail because an image requests memory that is already in use by gPXE. This will happen if e.g. undionly.kpxe is used to boot memtest86; the memtest86 image is an old-format kernel that needs to be loaded at 9000:0000, but this area of memory may well already be in use by the underlying PXE stack. Add a human-friendly error message, so that the cause is more immediately visible.
* [pcbios] Add extra debugging messages relating to the system memory mapMichael Brown2008-09-071-0/+2

* Remove osloader.c and replace with a prep_segment() that uses userptr_tMichael Brown2007-01-111-0/+72
