| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The OMAP IOMMU driver locates the IOMMU associated to a device using the IOMMU name stored in the device archdata iommu field. That field is expected to be populated by platform code and is left unset for DT-based devices. This results in a crash when the IOMMU driver attaches a domain to a device. Fix this by allocating the archdata iommu structure when devices are added and freeing when they are removed. Devices without an OF node, and devices without an iommus property in their OF node are ignored. The iommu name is initialized from the IOMMU device node name. This should be simplified when removing non-DT support completely from the IOMMU users as the IOMMU name won't be needed anymore, and the IOMMU device pointer could then be stored in the archdata iommu field directly. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The remoteproc MMUs in OMAP4+ SoCs have some additional debug registers that can give out the PC value in addition to the MMU fault address. The PC value can be extracted properly only on the DSP cores, and is not available on the ARM processors within the IPU sub-systems. Instead, the MMUs have been enhanced to throw a bus-error response back to the IPU processors. This functionality is programmable through the MMU_GP_REG register. The cores are simply stalled if the MMU_GP_REG.BUS_ERR_BACK_EN bit is not set. When set, a bus-error exception is raised allowing the processor to handle it as a bus fault and provide additional debug information. This feature is turned on by default by the driver on iommus supporting it. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | There are couple of issues with the error return paths in omap_iommu_attach(): 1. omap_iommu_attach() returns NULL or ERR_PTR in case of error, but omap_iommu_attach_dev() only checks for IS_ERR. Thus a NULL return value (in case driver_find_device fails) will cause the kernel to panic when omap_iommu_attach_dev() dereferences the pointer. 2. A try_module_get() failure returns a valid success value as returned from iommu_enable(). Both the above issues have been fixed up to return the proper ERR_PTR. It never actually worked as the address set is different from any others supported by the driver currently. An additional patch enables correct support for this part but is too large to sensibly apply as a fix to some support that never actually allowed the driver to be successfully probed on this part.

Due to this the release coordinate will be reported again by accident when the next touchscreen event happens. This change sets up the correct state when waiting for the next touchscreen event. This has led to reported issues with calibrating the touchscreen. Bug was introduced somewhere in the series that began with 18da755de59b406ce2371a55fb15ed676eb08ed2 Staging/iio/adc/touchscreen/MXS: add proper clock handling in which the way this driver worked was substantially changed to be interrupt driven rather than relying on a busy loop. This was a regression in the 3.13 kernel. This error shows up for me only for gcc 4.4 on 32bit x86, even for -Wstrict-aliasing=3, while newer gcc are quiet and scream here for -Wstrict-aliasing={2,1}. Looks like newer gcc changed the rules for strict alias warnings. The gcc documentation offers workaround for valid aliasing by using __may_alias__ attribute: http://gcc.gnu.org/onlinedocs/gcc-4.4.0/gcc/Type-Attributes.html Using this workaround for the find_first_bit function. It was because of the limit on number of open files (ulimit -n). Currently when perf loads a DSO, it'll look for normal and dynamic symbol tables. And if it fails to find out both tables, it'll iterate all of possible symtab types. But many of them are useless since they have no additional information and the problem is that it's not closing those files even though they're not used. Fix it. So it should be checked before calling hist_entry__inc_addr_ samples() to avoid wasting resources that will never be used. perf annotate need it regardless of UI and sort keys, so the check of whether to allocate resources should be on the tools that have annotate as an option in the TUI, 'report' and 'top', not on the function called by all of them. It caused perf annotate on ppc64 to produce zero output, since the buckets were not being allocated.
