* powerpc/fsl_soc: isolate legacy fsl_spi support to mpc832x_rdb boardsAnton Vorontsov2009-04-011-0/+107
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The advantages of this: - Don't encourage legacy support; - Less external symbols, less code to compile-in for !MPC832x_RDB platforms. * spi_mpc83xx: rework chip selects handlingAnton Vorontsov2009-04-011-12/+4Star
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The main purpose of this patch is to pass 'struct spi_device' to the chip select handling routines. This is needed so that we could implement full-fledged OpenFirmware support for this driver. While at it, also: - Replace two {de,activate}_cs routines by single cs_contol(). - Don't duplicate platform data callbacks in mpc83xx_spi struct. * powerpc/83xx: Move gianfar mdio nodes under the ethernet nodesAnton Vorontsov2009-03-246-0/+6
| | | | | | | | | | | | | Currently it doesn't matter where the mdio nodes are placed, but with power management support (i.e. when sleep = <> properties will take effect), mdio nodes placement will become important: mdio controller is a part of the ethernet block, so the mdio nodes should be placed correctly. Otherwise we may wrongly assume that MDIO controllers are available during sleep. * powerpc/kconfig: Kill PPC_MULTIPLATFORMBenjamin Herrenschmidt2009-03-111-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | CONFIG_PPC_MULTIPLATFORM is a remain of the pre-powerpc days and isn't really meaningful anymore. It was basically equivalent to PPC64 || 6xx. This removes it along with the following changes: - 32-bit platforms that relied on PPC32 && PPC_MULTIPLATFORM now rely on 6xx which is what they want anyway. - A new symbol, PPC_BOOK3S, is defined that represent compliance with the "Server" variant of the architecture. This is set when either 6xx or PPC64 is set and open the door for future BOOK3E 64-bit. - 64-bit platforms that relied on PPC64 && PPC_MULTIPLATFORM now use PPC64 && PPC_BOOK3S - A separate and selectable CONFIG_PPC_OF_BOOT_TRAMPOLINE option is now used to control the use of prom_init.c Signed-off-by: Benjamin Herrenschmidt <benh@kernel.crashing.org>
* powerpc/83xx: Do not configure or probe disabled FSL DR USB controllersAnton Vorontsov2009-03-091-1/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | On MPC837X CPUs Dual-Role USB isn't always available (for example DR USB pins can be muxed away to eSDHC). U-Boot adds status = "disabled" property into the DR USB nodes to indicate that we must not try to configure or probe Dual-Role USB, otherwise we'll break eSDHC support on targets with MPC837X CPUs. * powerpc/83xx: Add PCI-E support for all MPC83xx boards with PCI-EAnton Vorontsov2009-01-293-7/+7
| | | | | | | | | | | This patch adds pcie nodes to the appropriate dts files, plus adds some probing code for the boards. Also, remove of_device_is_avaliable() check from the mpc837x_mds.c board file, as mpc83xx_add_bridge() has the same check now. * powerpc/83xx: Move mcu_mpc8349emitx driver out of drivers/i2c/chips/Anton Vorontsov2009-01-142-0/+210
| | | | | | | | | | This patch is used to help Jean Delvare to get rid of drivers/i2c/chips/ directory. The new location suggested by Kumar Gala: as the driver is 83xx specific it's placed into arch/powerpc/platforms/83xx/. * powerpc/83xx: Add USB Host/Gadget support for MPC8360E-MDS boardsAnton Vorontsov2008-12-301-0/+75
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | - Update the device tree per QE USB bindings; - Add timer (FSL GTM) node; - Add gpio-controller node for BCSR13 bank (GPIOs on that bank are used to control the USB transceiver); - Set up other BCSR registers; - Configure the QE Par IO. The work is loosely based on Li Yang's patch[1], which was used to support peripheral mode only. * powerpc/83xx: don't probe broken PCI on mpc837x_mds boardsAnton Vorontsov2008-10-131-1/+7
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | In the standalone setup the board's CPLD disables the PCI internal arbiter, thus any access to the PCI bus will hang the board. The common way to disable particular devices in the device tree is to put the "status" property with any value other than "ok" or "okay" into the device node we want to disable. So, when there is no PCI arbiter on the bus the u-boot adds status = "broken (no arbiter)" property into the PCI controller's node, and so marks the PCI controller as unavailable. * powerpc: make Freescale QE support a selectable Kconfig optionTimur Tabi2008-10-131-5/+0Star
| | | | | | | | | | | | Modify the Kconfig so that Freescale QUICC Engine (QE) support is a selectable option, thereby allowing users to compile kernels without any QE support. The drawback is that QE support is now disabled by default on platforms that have a QE, and so a defconfig is needed to enable QE and QE devices (like UCC GETH). Fortunately, all the current relevant defconfigs do that already. Signed-off-by: Timur Tabi <timur@freescale.com> Signed-off-by: Kumar Gala <galak@kernel.crashing.org>

| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | add simple-bus compatible property to soc nodes for 83xx/85xx platforms that were missing them. Add same to platform probe code. This fixes SoC device drivers (such as talitos) to succeed in matching devices present in the soc node. also update mpc836x_rdk dts to new SEC bindings (overlooked in commit 3fd4473: powerpc/fsl: update crypto node definition and device tree instances). | | | | | | | | | | We must not use MPC831X_SICR[HL]_* definitions for the MPC8315 processors, because SICR USB bits locations are not compatible with MPC8313. * powerpc: pci config cleanupJohn Rigby2008-07-171-0/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Choosing PCI or not at config time is allowed on some platforms via an if expression in arch/powerpc/Kconfig. To add a new platform with PCI support selectable at config time, you must change the if expression. This patch makes this easier by changing: bool "PCI support" if <long expression> to bool "PCI support" if PPC_PCI_CHOICE and adding select PPC_PCI_CHOICE to all the config nodes that were previously in the PCI if expression. Platforms with unconditional PCI support continue to just select PCI in their config nodes. * powerpc: Add 82xx/83xx/86xx to 6xx MultiplatformKumar Gala2008-07-141-4/+6
| | | | | | | | | | There isn't any reason at this point that we can't build 82xx, 83xx & 86xx support in with the other 6xx based boards. Twiddle the Kconfigs to allow this. * powerpc/83xx: new board support: MPC8360E-RDKAnton Vorontsov2008-06-103-0/+114
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This is patch adds board file, device tree, and defconfig for the new board, made by Freescale Semiconductor Inc. and Logic Product Development. Currently supported: 1. UEC{1,2,7,4}; 2. I2C; 3. SPI; 4. NS16550 serial; 5. PCI and miniPCI; 6. Intel NOR StrataFlash X16 64Mbit PC28F640P30T85; 7. Graphics controller, Fujitsu MB86277. Not supported in this patch: 1. StMICRO NAND512W3A2BN6E, 512 Mbit (supported with FSL UPM NAND driver); 2. FHCI USB (supported with FHCI driver). 3. QE Serial UCCs (tested to not work with ucc_uart driver, reason unknown, yet); 4. ADC AD7843 (tested to work, but support via device tree depends on major SPI rework, GPIO API, etc); Signed-off-by: Anton Vorontsov <avorontsov@ru.mvista.com> Signed-off-by: Kumar Gala <galak@kernel.crashing.org>

* [POWERPC] 83xx: mpc8315 - fix USB UTMI Host setupAnton Vorontsov2008-04-172-3/+11
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Currently USB Host isn't functional on the MPC8315E boards, for two reasons as described below. MPC8315 Reference Manual says: "The USB DR unit must have the same clock ratio as the encryption core unit, unless one of them has its clock disabled." The encryption core also drives I2C clock, so it is enabled and is equal to 01. That means USBDRCM should be 01 here. Plus, according to MPC8315E-RDB schematics, USB unit consumes CLK_IN clock from the 24.00MHz oscillator, which means we must adjust REFSEL bits as well. p.s. Idially we should rework whole 83xx/usb.c code, in two steps: 1. Move SCCR code to the U-Boot; 2. Implement fsl,usb-clock property in the device tree, so usb.c could decide what clock exactly to use on per-board basis. Though, today we're not in a hurry since there is just one 8315e board out there. Signed-off-by: Anton Vorontsov <avorontsov@ru.mvista.com> Signed-off-by: Kumar Gala <galak@kernel.crashing.org>

* [POWERPC] pci32: Add flags modifying the PCI code behaviourBenjamin Herrenschmidt2007-12-201-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | This adds to the 32 bits PCI code some flags, replacing the old pci_assign_all_busses global, that allow us to control various aspects of the PCI probing, such as whether to re-assign all resources or not, or to not try to assign anything at all. This also adds the flag x86 already has to avoid ISA alignment on bridges that don't have ISA forwarding enabled (no legacy devices on the top level bus) and sets it for PowerMacs. * [POWERPC] 83xx: mpc832x mds: Fix board PHY reset codeKim Phillips2007-11-201-3/+4
| | | | | | | | | | | | currently the board-level PHY reset code for the mpc832x MDS messes with reset configuration words source settings which is plain wrong (it looks like this board code was cut-n-pasted from the mpc8360 mds code, which has the PHY reset bits in a different BCSR); this patch points the PHY reset code to the proper mpc832x mds PHY reset bits in the BCSR.
