* vt:tackle kbd_tableAlan Cox2012-03-081-6/+3Star
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Keyboard struct lifetime is easy, but the locking is not and is completely ignored by the existing code. Tackle this one head on - Make the kbd_table private so we can run down all direct users - Hoick the relevant ioctl handlers into the keyboard layer - Lock them with the keyboard lock so they don't change mid keypress - Add helpers for things like console stop/start so we isolate the poking around properly - Tweak the braille console so it still builds There are a couple of FIXME locking cases left for ioctls that are so hideous they should be addressed in a later patch. After this patch the kbd_table is private and all the keyboard jiggery pokery is in one place. This update fixes speakup and also a memory leak in the original. * module_param: make bool parameters really bool (drivers & misc)Rusty Russell2012-01-131-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | module_param(bool) used to counter-intuitively take an int. In fddd5201 (mid-2009) we allowed bool or int/unsigned int using a messy trick. It's time to remove the int/unsigned int option. For this version it'll simply give a warning, but it'll break next kernel version. * drop explicit include of autoconf.hSam Ravnborg2009-12-121-1/+0Star
| | | | | | | | | kbuild.h forces include of autoconf.h on the commandline using -include - so we do not need to include the file explicit. Signed-off-by: Sam Ravnborg <sam@ravnborg.org> Signed-off-by: Michal Marek <mmarek@suse.cz>
* braille_console: only register notifiers when the braille console is usedPascal Terjan2008-10-031-9/+4Star
| | | | | | | | | | | | | Only register the braille driver VT and keyboard notifiers when the braille console is used. Avoids eating insert or backspace keys. * Basic braille screen reader supportSamuel Thibault2008-04-304-0/+422
This adds a minimalistic braille screen reader support. This is meant to be used by blind people e.g. on boot failures or when / cannot be mounted etc and thus the userland screen readers can not work.
