As a result, it should become really easy to add full multiplatform exynos support in 3.11, although we don't yet enable it for 3.10. The changes were not included in the earlier multiplatform series in order to avoid clashes with the other Exynos updates. This also includes work from Tomasz Figa to fix the pwm clocksource code on Exynos, which is not strictly required for multiplatform, but related to the other patches in this set and needed as a bug fix for at least one board." * tag 'multiplatform-for-linus-2' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/arm/arm-soc: (22 commits) ARM: dts: exynops4210: really add universal_c210 dts ARM: dts: exynos4210: Add basic dts file for universal_c210 board ARM: dts: exynos4: Add node for PWM device ARM: SAMSUNG: Do not register legacy timer interrupts on Exynos clocksource: samsung_pwm_timer: Work around rounding errors in clockevents core clocksource: samsung_pwm_timer: Correct programming of clock events clocksource: samsung_pwm_timer: Use proper clockevents max_delta clocksource: samsung_pwm_timer: Add support for non-DT platforms clocksource: samsung_pwm_timer: Drop unused samsung_pwm struct clocksource: samsung_pwm_timer: Keep all driver data in a structure clocksource: samsung_pwm_timer: Make PWM spinlock global clocksource: samsung_pwm_timer: Let platforms select the driver Documentation: Add device tree bindings for Samsung PWM timers clocksource: add samsung pwm timer driver irqchip: exynos: look up irq using irq_find_mapping irqchip: exynos: pass irq_base from platform irqchip: exynos: localize irq lookup for ATAGS irqchip: exynos: allocate combiner_data dynamically irqchip: exynos: pass max combiner number to combiner_init ARM: exynos: add missing properties for combiner IRQs ...
| * irqchip: exynos: look up irq using irq_find_mappingArnd Bergmann2013-04-191-7/+6Star
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Since we want to move to using the linear IRQ domain in the future, we cannot rely on the irq numbers to be contiguous and need to look up the irq from the hwirq using the domain. This also turns the bogus comparison with NR_IRQ into a more meaningful check to see if the number has a valid mapping. Signed-off-by: Arnd Bergmann <arnd@arndb.de>
| * irqchip: exynos: pass irq_base from platformArnd Bergmann2013-04-191-10/+13
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The platform code knows the IRQ base, while the irqchip driver should really not. This is a littly hacky because we still hardwire the IRQ base to 160 for the combiner in the DT case, when we should really use -1. Removing that line will cause a linear IRQ domain to be use, as we should. Signed-off-by: Arnd Bergmann <arnd@arndb.de> Cc: Thomas Gleixner <tglx@linutronix.de>
| * irqchip: exynos: localize irq lookup for ATAGSArnd Bergmann2013-04-191-7/+12
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The IRQ_SPI() macro is not available in the driver when building with sparse IRQs or multiplatform, so let's move all users of this into one function that we can leave out when building DT-only. | * irqchip: exynos: allocate combiner_data dynamicallyArnd Bergmann2013-04-191-13/+23
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The number of combiners on a given SoC is a platform specific constant, and we cannot encode this number on a multiplatform kernel since the header file defining it is not available. Allocating the structure dynamically ends up cleaner anyway since we keep all the data local. Signed-off-by: Arnd Bergmann <arnd@arndb.de> Cc: Thomas Gleixner <tglx@linutronix.de>
| * irqchip: exynos: pass max combiner number to combiner_initArnd Bergmann2013-04-191-30/+16Star
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | We can find out the number of combined IRQs from the device tree, but in case of ATAGS boot, the driver currently uses hardcoded values based on the SoC type. We can't do that in general for a multiplatform kernel, so let's instead pass this information from platform code directly in case of ATAGS boot. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | If we move the IRQ handler function above the initialization function, we avoid a forward declaration. | * | | irqchip: move IRQ driver for Armada 370/XPThomas Petazzoni2013-04-152-0/+295
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | When the Marvell Armada 370/XP support was included in the kernel, the drivers/irqchip/ directory didn't exist and the minimal infrastructure in it also didn't exist. Now that we have those things in place, we move the Armada 370/XP IRQ controller driver from arch/arm/mach-mvebu/irq-armada-370-xp.c to drivers/irqchip/irq-armada-370-xp.c. Note in order to reduce code movement and therefore ease the review of this patch, we intentionally introduce a forward declaration of armada_370_xp_handle_irq(). It is in fact not needed because this handler can now simply be implemented before armada_370_xp_mpic_of_init(). That will be done in the next commit. There are both new drivers as well as existing drivers that are getting converted from platform-specific code into standalone drivers using the appropriate subsystem specific interfaces. In particular, we can now have pinctrl, clk, clksource and irqchip drivers in one file per driver, without the need to call into platform specific interface, or to get called from platform specific code, as long as all information about the hardware is provided through a device tree. Most of the drivers we touch this time are for clocksource. Since now most of them are part of drivers/clocksource, I expect that we won't have to touch these again from arm-soc and can let the clocksource maintainers take care of these in the future. Another larger part of this series is specific to the exynos platform, which is seeing some significant effort in upstreaming and modernization of its device drivers this time around, which unfortunately is also the cause for the churn and a lot of the merge conflicts. There is one new subsystem that gets merged as part of this series: the reset controller interface, which is a very simple interface for taking devices on the SoC out of reset or back into reset. Patches to use this interface on i.MX follow later in this merge window, and we are going to have other platforms (at least tegra and sirf) get converted in 3.11. This will let us get rid of platform specific callbacks in a number of platform independent device drivers." * tag 'drivers-for-linus' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/arm/arm-soc: (256 commits) irqchip: s3c24xx: add missing __init annotations ARM: dts: Disable the RTC by default on exynos5 clk: exynos5250: Fix parent clock for sclk_mmc{0,1,2,3} ARM: exynos: restore mach/regs-clock.h for exynos5 clocksource: exynos_mct: fix build error on non-DT pinctrl: vt8500: wmt: Fix checking return value of pinctrl_register() irqchip: vt8500: Convert arch-vt8500 to new irqchip infrastructure reset: NULL deref on allocation failure reset: Add reset controller API dt: describe base reset signal binding ARM: EXYNOS: Add arm-pmu DT binding for exynos421x ARM: EXYNOS: Add arm-pmu DT binding for exynos5250 ARM: EXYNOS: Enable PMUs for exynos4 irqchip: exynos-combiner: Correct combined IRQs for exynos4 irqchip: exynos-combiner: Add set_irq_affinity function for combiner_irq ARM: EXYNOS: fix compilation error introduced due to common clock migration clk: exynos5250: Fix divider values for sclk_mmc{0,1,2,3} clk: exynos4: export clocks required for fimc-is clk: samsung: Fix compilation error clk: tegra: fix enum tegra114_clk to match binding ...

This patch enables the intc_irqpin driver to detect requests for shared interrupt lines and demuxes them properly by querying the INTC INTREQx0A registers. If you need multiple shared intc_irqpin device instances, be sure to mask out all interrupts on the INTC that share the one line before you start to register them. Else you run into IRQ floods that would be caused by interrupts for which no handler has been set up yet when the first intc_irqpin device is registered. The IRQC hardware block is used together with more recent ARM based SoCs using the GIC. As usual the GIC requires external IRQ trigger setup somewhere else which in this particular case happens to be IRQC. This driver implements the glue code needed to configure IRQ trigger and also handle mask/unmask and demux of external IRQ pins hooked up from the IRQC to the GIC. Tested on r8a73a4 but is designed to work with a wide range of SoCs. The driver requires one GIC SPI per external IRQ pin to operate. Each driver instance will handle up to 32 external IRQ pins. The SoCs using this driver are currently mainly used together with regular platform devices so this driver allows configuration via platform data to support things like static interrupt base address. DT support will be added incrementally in the not so distant future. The INTC hardware block usually contains a rather wide range of features ranging from external IRQ pin handling to legacy interrupt controller support. On older SoCs the INTC is used as a general purpose interrupt controller both for external IRQ pins and on-chip devices. On more recent ARM based SoCs with Cortex-A9 the main interrupt controller is the GIC, but IRQ trigger setup still need to happen in the INTC hardware block. This driver implements the glue code needed to configure IRQ trigger and also handle mask/unmask and demux of external IRQ pins hooked up from the INTC to the GIC. Tested on sh73a0 and r8a7779. The hardware varies quite a bit with SoC model, for instance register width and bitfield widths vary wildly. The driver requires one GIC SPI per external IRQ pin to operate. Each driver instance will handle up to 8 external IRQ pins. The SoCs using this driver are currently mainly used together with regular platform devices so this driver allows configuration via platform data to support things like static interrupt base address. DT support will be added incrementally in the not so distant future. It was ok at the time of the support of only the A10 and A13 that looks pretty much the same, but it's beginning to be troublesome with the future addition of the Allwinner A31 (sun6i) that is quite different, and would introduce some weird logic, where sunxi would actually mean in some case sun4i and sun5i but without sun6i... Moreover, it makes the compatible strings naming scheme not consistent with other architectures, where usually for this kind of compability, we just use the oldest SoC name that has this IP, so let's do just this.
