* gru: allow users to specify gru chiplet 2Jack Steiner2009-12-161-7/+2Star
| | | | | | | | | | | Add support to the GRU driver to allow users to specify the blade & chiplet for allocation of GRU contexts. Add new statistics for context loading/unloading/retargeting. Also deleted a few GRU stats that were no longer being unused. Signed-off-by: Jack Steiner <steiner@sgi.com> Signed-off-by: Andrew Morton <akpm@linux-foundation.org> Signed-off-by: Linus Torvalds <torvalds@linux-foundation.org>
* X86: uv: implement a gru_read_gpa kernel functionRobin Holt2009-12-161-0/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | The BIOS has decided to store a pointer to the partition reserved page in a scratch MMR. The GRU is only able to read an MMR using a vload instruction. The gru_read_gpa() function will implemented. * sgi-gru: decrapfiy options_write() functionLinus Torvalds2009-11-051-6/+7
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Not a single line of actual code in the function was really fundamentally correct. Problems ranged from lack of proper range checking, to removing the last character written (which admittedly is usually '\n'), to not accepting hex numbers even though the 'show' routine would show the data in that format. This tries to do better. * gru: generic infrastructure for context optionsJack Steiner2009-06-181-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | Change the user GRU request for specifying the "task_slice" option to use a generic infrastructure that can be expanded in the future to include additional context options. No new capabilities are added with this patch. Signed-off-by: Jack Steiner <steiner@sgi.com> Signed-off-by: Andrew Morton <akpm@linux-foundation.org> Signed-off-by: Linus Torvalds <torvalds@linux-foundation.org>
* gru: update to rev 0.9 of gru specJack Steiner2009-06-181-0/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | Update GRU driver to the latest version of the GRU spec. This consists of minor updates: - changes & additions to error status bits - new restriction on handling of TLB misses while in FMM mode - new field (not used by software) in TFH Signed-off-by: Jack Steiner <steiner@sgi.com> Signed-off-by: Andrew Morton <akpm@linux-foundation.org> Signed-off-by: Linus Torvalds <torvalds@linux-foundation.org>
* gru: change resource assignment for kernel threadsJack Steiner2009-06-181-3/+6
| | | | | | | | | | | Change the way GRU resources are assigned for kernel threads. GRU contexts for kernel threads are now allocated on demand and can be stolen by user processes when idle. This allows MPI jobs to use ALL of the GRU resources when the kernel is not using them. * gru: bug fixes for GRU exception handlingJack Steiner2009-06-181-2/+3
| | | | | | | | | | | | | Bug fixes for GRU exception handling. Additional fields from the CBR must be returned to the user to allow the user to correctly diagnose GRU exceptions. Handle endcase in TFH TLB miss handling. Verify that TFH actually indicates a pending exception. * sgi-gru: macro for scanning all gru chipletsJack Steiner2009-04-031-2/+2
| | | | | | | | | Add macro for scanning all active GRU chiplets. Maximum chiplet id is saved during GRU initialization. Signed-off-by: Jack Steiner <steiner@sgi.com> Signed-off-by: Andrew Morton <akpm@linux-foundation.org> Signed-off-by: Linus Torvalds <torvalds@linux-foundation.org>

| | | | | | | | | | | | Impact: fix double entry creation in /proc There is a collision between two UV functions: both uv_ptc_init() and gru_proc_init() try to make /proc/sgi_uv So move it's creation to a single place: uv_system_init() Signed-off-by: Cliff Wickman <cpw@sgi.com> Signed-off-by: Ingo Molnar <mingo@elte.hu>
