* gianfar_ptp: replace get_of_u32 with of_property_read_u32Yangbo Lu2016-02-251-20/+13Star
| | | | | | | | Replace get_of_u32 with standard helper function of_property_read_u32 since the latter can process cpu endianness. Signed-off-by: Yangbo Lu <yangbo.lu@nxp.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* net: fsl: Fix error checking for platform_get_irq()Mark Brown2015-11-301-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | The gianfar driver has recently been enabled on arm64 but fails to build since it check the return value of platform_get_irq() against NO_IRQ. Fix this by instead checking for a negative error code. Even on ARM where this code was previously being built this check was incorrect since platform_get_irq() returns a negative error code which may not be exactly the (unsigned int)(-1) that NO_IRQ is defined to be. * net: gianfar_ptp: Fix module autoload for OF platform driverLuis de Bethencourt2015-09-221-0/+1
| | | | | | | | | This platform driver has a OF device ID table but the OF module alias information is not created so module autoloading won't work. * ptp: gianfar: use helpers for converting ns to timespec.Richard Cochran2015-03-311-5/+3Star
| | | | | | | | This patch changes the driver to use ns_to_timespec64() and timespec64_to_ns() instead of open coding the same logic. Signed-off-by: Richard Cochran <richardcochran@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* ptp: gianfar: convert to the 64 bit get/set time methods.Richard Cochran2015-03-311-6/+7
| | | | | | | | The device features a 64 bit nanoseconds register, and so with this patch the driver is ready for the year 2038. Signed-off-by: Richard Cochran <richardcochran@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>

* ptp: drivers: set the number of programmable pins.Richard Cochran2014-03-211-0/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | This patch updates the many PTP Hardware Clock drivers with the newly introduced field that advertises the number of programmable pins. Some of these devices do have programmable pins, but the implementation will have to wait for follow on patches. * drivers/net: delete non-required instances of include <linux/init.h>Paul Gortmaker2014-01-161-1/+0Star
| | | | | | | | | | | | | None of these files are actually using any __init type directives and hence don't need to include <linux/init.h>. Most are just a left over from __devinit and __cpuinit removal, or simply due to code getting copied from one driver to the next. This covers everything under drivers/net except for wireless, which has been submitted separately. Signed-off-by: Paul Gortmaker <paul.gortmaker@windriver.com> Signed-off-by: David S. * powerpc/83xx: gianfar_ptp: select 1588 clock source through dts fileAida Mynzhasova2013-10-011-1/+3
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Currently IEEE 1588 timer reference clock source is determined through hard-coded value in gianfar_ptp driver. This patch allows to select ptp clock source by means of device tree file node. For instance: fsl,cksel = <0>; for using external (TSEC_TMR_CLK input) high precision timer reference clock. Other acceptable values: <1> : eTSEC system clock <2> : eTSEC1 transmit clock <3> : RTC clock input When this attribute isn't used, eTSEC system clock will serve as IEEE 1588 timer reference clock. * net: ethernet: use platform_{get,set}_drvdata()Jingoo Han2013-05-261-2/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | Use the wrapper functions for getting and setting the driver data using platform_device instead of using dev_{get,set}_drvdata() with &pdev->dev, so we can directly pass a struct platform_device. Also, unnecessary dev_set_drvdata() is removed, because the driver core clears the driver data to NULL after device_release or on probe failure. | * gianfar: do not advertise any alarm capability.Richard Cochran2013-04-251-2/+1Star
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | An early draft of the PHC patch series included an alarm in the gianfar driver. During the review process, the alarm code was dropped, but the capability removal was overlooked. This patch fixes the issue by advertising zero alarms. This patch should be applied to every 3.x stable kernel. * gianfar_ptp: use iomem, not ioports resource tree in probeWei Yang2012-10-251-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | When using a 36 bit dtb file, the driver complains "resource busy". Investigating the source of the message leads one to the gianfar_ptp_probe function. Since the type of the device resource requested in this function is IORESOURCE_MEM, it should use "iomem_resource" instead of "ioports_resource". | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This patch fixes a build failure introduced in commit 66636287 ("gianfar: Support the get_ts_info ethtool method."). Not only was a global variable inconsistently named, but also it was not exported as it should have been. This fix is also needed in stable version 3.5.
