* ixgbe: Add a PHY power state methodDon Skidmore2015-06-101-0/+1
| | | | | | | | | | This new method will control the PHY power state. You pass in the state you wish to change to (ether on or off). For cases where this method is not used the current PHY power state behavior is maintained. * ixgbe: Add X550 support function pointersDon Skidmore2014-12-051-1/+5
| | | | | | | | | | | | This patch extends the function pointer structure to include the new X550 class MAC types. This creates a new file ixgbe_x550.c that contains all of the new methods. Because of similarities to the X540 part in some cases we just use it's methods where they can be used without any modification. These exported functions are now defined in the new ixgbe_x540.h file. * ixgbe: add methods for combined read and write operationsDon Skidmore2014-12-051-0/+4
| | | | | | | | | Some X550 procedures will be using CS4227 PHY and need to perform combined read and write operations. This patch adds those methods. Signed-off-by: Don Skidmore <donald.c.skidmore@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Jeff Kirsher <jeffrey.t.kirsher@intel.com>
* ixgbe: clean up checkpatch warnings about CODE_INDENT and LEADING_SPACEJacob Keller2014-05-231-16/+16
| | | | | | | | | | | The contents of this patch were originally generated by "scripts/checkpatch.pl --fix-inplace --types CODE_INDENT,LEADING_SPACE drivers/net/ethernet/ixgbe/*.[ch]", and then hand verified for consistency. * ixgbe: fix ixgbe_check_reset_blocked() declarationJean Sacren2014-04-011-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | The commit c97506ab0e22 ("ixgbe: Add check for FW veto bit") introduced the new function ixgbe_check_reset_blocked() with a minor issue in declaration. Fix the declaration by changing the type specifier to bool as the definition returns a boolean value. Additionally all ixgbe_check_reset_blocked() callers are expected to return a boolean value. * ixgbe: remove unused media typeJacob Keller2014-03-201-4/+0Star
| | | | | | | | | | | | | This patch reverts the addition of the fiber_fixed type, which ended up never being used. We don't have plans to support this type going forward, and there is no reason to keep an unused type around polluting the code. * ixgbe: add Linux NICS mailing list to contact infoJacob Keller2014-03-131-0/+1
| | | | | | | | | | This patch updates the contact information on the ixgbe driver files so that every file includes the Linux NICS address, as it is still used, but only a few of the files mentioned it. * ixgbe: fix semaphore lock for I2C read/writes on 82598Emil Tantilov2013-07-311-0/+4
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | ixgbe_read/write_i2c_phy_82598() does not hold the SWFW_SYNC semaphore for the entire function. Instead the lock is held only during the phy.ops.read/write_reg operations. As result when the function is being called simultaneously the I2C read/writes can be corrupted. The following patch introduces the SWFW_SYNC semaphore for the entire ixgbe_read/write_i2c_phy_82598() function. To accomplish this I had to create 2 separate functions: ixgbe_read_phy_reg_mdi() ixgbe_write_phy_reg_mdi() Those functions are identical to ixgbe_read/write_phy_reg_generic() sans the locking, and can be used in ixgbe_read/write_i2c_phy_82598() with the SWFW_SYNC semaphore being held.
