* net: rename vlan_tx_* helpers since "tx" is misleading thereJiri Pirko2015-01-131-2/+2
| | | | | | | The same macros are used for rx as well. So rename it. Signed-off-by: Jiri Pirko <jiri@resnulli.us> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* netfilter: Fix FSF address in file headersJeff Kirsher2013-12-061-2/+1Star
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | Several files refer to an old address for the Free Software Foundation in the file header comment. Resolve by replacing the address with the URL <http://www.gnu.org/licenses/> so that we do not have to keep updating the header comments anytime the address changes. * vlan: Rename VLAN_GROUP_ARRAY_LEN to VLAN_N_VID.Jesse Gross2010-10-211-2/+2
| | | | | | | | | | VLAN_GROUP_ARRAY_LEN is simply the number of possible vlan VIDs. Since vlan groups will soon be more of an implementation detail for vlan devices, rename the constant to be descriptive of its actual purpose. * ebtables: Allow filtering of hardware accelerated vlan frames.Jesse Gross2010-10-211-7/+14
| | | | | | | | | | An upcoming commit will allow packets with hardware vlan acceleration information to be passed though more parts of the network stack, including packets trunked through the bridge. This adds support for matching and filtering those packets through ebtables. Signed-off-by: Jesse Gross <jesse@nicira.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* netfilter: xtables: deconstify struct xt_action_param for matchesJan Engelhardt2010-05-111-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | In future, layer-3 matches will be an xt module of their own, and need to set the fragoff and thoff fields. Adding more pointers would needlessy increase memory requirements (esp. so for 64-bit, where pointers are wider). Signed-off-by: Jan Engelhardt <jengelh@medozas.de>

* netfilter: xtables: change matches to return error codeJan Engelhardt2010-03-251-7/+7
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The following semantic patch does part of the transformation: // <smpl> @ rule1 @ struct xt_match ops; identifier check; @@ ops.checkentry = check; @@ identifier rule1.check; @@ check(...) { <... -return true; +return 0; ...> } @@ identifier rule1.check; @@ check(...) { <... -return false; +return -EINVAL; ...> } // </smpl> Signed-off-by: Jan Engelhardt <jengelh@medozas.de>
* netfilter: xtables: change xt_match.checkentry return typeJan Engelhardt2010-03-251-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Restore function signatures from bool to int so that we can report memory allocation failures or similar using -ENOMEM rather than always having to pass -EINVAL back. This semantic patch may not be too precise (checking for functions that use xt_mtchk_param rather than functions referenced by xt_match.checkentry), but reviewed, it produced the intended result. // <smpl> @@ type bool; identifier check, par; @@ -bool check +int check (struct xt_mtchk_param *par) { ... } // </smpl> Signed-off-by: Jan Engelhardt <jengelh@medozas.de>
* netfilter: xt extensions: use pr_<level> (2)Jan Engelhardt2010-03-251-23/+13Star
| | | | | | | | | | | Supplement to 1159683ef48469de71dc26f0ee1a9c30d131cf89. Downgrade the log level to INFO for most checkentry messages as they are, IMO, just an extra information to the -EINVAL code that is returned as part of a parameter "constraint violation". Leave errors to real errors, such as being unable to create a LED trigger. Signed-off-by: Jan Engelhardt <jengelh@medozas.de>
* netfilter: ebtables: avoid explicit XT_ALIGN() in match/targetsFlorian Westphal2010-02-151-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This will cause trouble once CONFIG_COMPAT support is added to ebtables. xt_compat_*_offset() calculate the kernel/userland structure size delta using: XT_ALIGN(size) - COMPAT_XT_ALIGN(size) If the match/target sizes are aligned at registration time, delta is always zero. Should have zero effect for existing systems: xtables uses XT_ALIGN() whenever it deals with match/target sizes. * netfilter: xtables: move extension arguments into compound structure (2/6)Jan Engelhardt2008-10-081-6/+3Star

* netfilter: xtables: move extension arguments into compound structure (1/6)Jan Engelhardt2008-10-081-4/+2Star
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The function signatures for Xtables extensions have grown over time. It involves a lot of typing/replication, and also a bit of stack space even if they are not used. Realize an NFWS2008 idea and pack them into structs. The skb remains outside of the struct so gcc can continue to apply its optimizations. This patch does this for match extensions' match functions. A few ambiguities have also been addressed. The "offset" parameter for example has been renamed to "fragoff" (there are so many different offsets already) and "protoff" to "thoff" (there is more than just one protocol here, so clarify). * [NETFILTER]: Rename init functions.Andrew Morton2006-03-291-4/+4
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | Every netfilter module uses `init' for its module_init() function and `fini' or `cleanup' for its module_exit() function. Problem is, this creates uninformative initcall_debug output and makes ctags rather useless. So go through and rename them all to $(filename)_init and $(filename)_fini. Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history, even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about 3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good infrastructure for it. Let it rip!
