* Rename target_phys_addr_t to hwaddrAvi Kivity2012-10-231-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | target_phys_addr_t is unwieldly, violates the C standard (_t suffixes are reserved) and its purpose doesn't match the name (most target_phys_addr_t addresses are not target specific). Replace it with a finger-friendly, standards conformant hwaddr. Outstanding patchsets can be fixed up with the command git rebase -i --exec 'find -name "*.[ch]" | xargs s/target_phys_addr_t/hwaddr/g' origin Signed-off-by: Avi Kivity <avi@redhat.com> Signed-off-by: Anthony Liguori <aliguori@us.ibm.com>
* Rename CPUState -> CPUArchStateAndreas Färber2012-03-141-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | Scripted conversion: for file in *.[hc] hw/*.[hc] hw/kvm/*.[hc] linux-user/*.[hc] linux-user/m68k/*.[hc] bsd-user/*.[hc] darwin-user/*.[hc] tcg/*/*.[hc] target-*/cpu.h; do sed -i "s/CPUState/CPUArchState/g" $file done All occurrences of CPUArchState are expected to be replaced by QOM CPUState, once all targets are QOM'ified and common fields have been extracted. * Remove special handling of system include files (no longer needed)Stefan Weil2010-10-221-3/+0Star
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The formerly used dyngen code did not work with system include files like stdio.h. Tests with Linux, OSX and Win32 show that this restriction is no longer needed. So we hopefully can remove that special piece of code. This results in cleaner code and allows better use of the new GCC_FMT_ATTR macro. * Revert "Get rid of _t suffix"Anthony Liguori2009-10-011-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | In the very least, a change like this requires discussion on the list. The naming convention is goofy and it causes a massive merge problem. Something like this _must_ be presented on the list first so people can provide input and cope with it. This reverts commit 99a0949b720a0936da2052cb9a46db04ffc6db29. * Compile loader only onceBlue Swirl2009-09-201-1/+3
| | | | | | | | | | | | | Callers must pass ELF machine, byte swapping and symbol LSB clearing information to ELF loader. A.out loader needs page size information, pass that too as a parameter. Extract prototypes to a separate file. Move loader.[ch] and elf_ops.h under hw. Adjust callers. Also use target_phys_addr_t instead of target_ulong for addresses: loader addresses aren't virtual. * monitor: Rework API (Jan Kiszka)aliguori2009-03-061-1/+7
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Refactor the monitor API and prepare it for decoupled terminals: term_print functions are renamed to monitor_* and all monitor services gain a new parameter (mon) that will once refer to the monitor instance the output is supposed to appear on. However, the argument remains unused for now. All monitor command callbacks are also extended by a mon parameter so that command handlers are able to pass an appropriate reference to monitor output services. For the case that monitor outputs so far happen without clearly identifiable context, the global variable cur_mon is introduced that shall once provide a pointer either to the current active monitor (while processing commands) or to the default one. On the mid or long term, those use case will be obsoleted so that this variable can be removed again. Due to the broad usage of the monitor interface, this patch mostly deals with converting users of the monitor API. A few of them are already extended to pass 'mon' from the command handler further down to internal functions that invoke monitor_printf. At this chance, monitor-related prototypes are moved from console.h to a new monitor.h. The same is done for the readline API. * * Use function pointers for symbol lookup (currently for elf32 and elf64,pbrook2008-10-221-4/+16
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | could be expanded). This also fixes the bug with mips elf64 symbols in current Qemu trunk. * Use quicksort and binary search for symbol lookup. * Remove unneeded entries from symbol table. This reduced a typical table size (linux mips kernel) from 1764487 to 11656 entries.
