This is a bug fix, in that we no longer clobber dflag. Consider: l.j L2 // branch l.mfspr r1, ppc // delay L1: boom L2: l.lwa r3, (r4) Here, dflag would be set by cpu_restore_state (because that is the current state of the cpu), but but not cleared by tb_stop on exiting the TB (because DisasContext has recorded the current value as zero). The next TB begins at L2 with dflag incorrectly set. If the load has a tlb miss, then the exception will be delivered as per a delay slot: with DSX set in the status register and PC decremented (delay slots restart by re-executing the branch). | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | When running SMP systems we sometimes were seeing lockups where IPI interrupts were being raised by never handled. This looks to be caused by 2 issues in the openrisc interrupt handling logic. 1. After clearing an interrupt the openrisc_cpu_set_irq handler will always clear PICSR. This is not correct as masked interrupts should still be visible in PICSR. 2. After setting PICMR (mask register) and exposed interrupts should cause an interrupt to be raised. We found that randomly the tests would fail. We found through investigation that a combination of a tick timer interrupt, raised when executing a delay slot instruction at a page boundary caused the issue. This was caused when handling the TB_EXIT_REQUESTED case in cpu_tb_exec. On OpenRISC, which doesn't implement synchronize_from_tb, set_pc was being used as a fallback. The OpenRISC set_pc implementation clears dflag, which caused the exception handling logic to not account for the delay slot. This was the bug, because it meant when execution resumed after the interrupt was handling it resumed in the wrong place. Fix this by implementing synchronize_from_tb which simply updates pc, and not clear the delay slot flag. Reported-by: Jason A. (The purpose of minimum_version_id_old is to specify what migration version is needed for the code in the function pointed to by load_state_old to be able to handle it on incoming migration.) We have exactly one VMSD which still has a load_state_old, in the PPC CPU; every other VMSD which sets minimum_version_id_old is doing so unnecessarily. Delete all the unnecessary ones. However CONFIG_FOO is only enabled for target foo via the meson.build rules. Two architecture have a particularity, ARM and MIPS. As their translators have been split you can potentially build a plain 32 bit build along with a 64-bit version including the 32-bit subset. Therefore, what we can do safely to restrict the TCG fields to TCG-only builds, is to move all tcg cpu operations into a separate header file, which is only included by TCG, target-specific code. This leaves just a NULL pointer in the cpu.h for the non-TCG builds. This also tidies up the code in all targets a bit, having all TCG cpu operations neatly contained by a dedicated data struct. It tacitly limits numbers to int64_t, and strings contents to characters that don't need escaping, unlike qobject_to_json(). The previous commit factored the JSON writer out of qobject_to_json(). | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The openrisc code uses an old style of interrupt handling, where a separate standalone set of qemu_irqs invoke a function openrisc_pic_cpu_handler() which signals the interrupt to the CPU proper by directly calling cpu_interrupt() and cpu_reset_interrupt(). Because CPU objects now inherit (indirectly) from TYPE_DEVICE, they can have GPIO input lines themselves, and the neater modern way to implement this is to simply have the CPU object itself provide the input IRQ lines. Create GPIO inputs to the OpenRISC CPU object, and make the only user of cpu_openrisc_pic_init() wire up directly to those instead. This allows us to delete the hw/openrisc/pic_cpu.c file entirely. This fixes a trivial memory leak reported by Coverity of the IRQs allocated in cpu_openrisc_pic_init(). | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | In the mtspr helper we attempt to check for "is the timer disabled" with "if (env->ttmr & TIMER_NONE)". This is wrong because TIMER_NONE is zero and the condition is always false (Coverity complains about the dead code.) The correct check would be to test whether the TTMR_M field in the register is equal to TIMER_NONE instead. However, the cpu_openrisc_timer_update() function checks whether the timer is enabled (it looks at cpu->env.is_counting, which is set to 0 via cpu_openrisc_count_stop() when the TTMR_M field is set to TIMER_NONE), so there's no need to check for "timer disabled" in the target/openrisc code. Instead, simply remove the dead code.
